F.A.C.T.S. GUEST - Don S. Davis
Present in : 2005

Don Sinclair Davis was born on august 4th 1942 in Ozark Mountains, Missouri. Besides being a respected actor and talented painter he was a captain in the army of the United States (got stationed in Korea in the 1970's). He began working in the film industry in the 1980s, while teaching at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver as a theater professor. In 1987 he stopped teaching in order to pursue acting fulltime.

He played in many films and television productions such as "Cliffhanger", "Hook", "The Fan" and "Con Air". He is mostly known for his gueststar roles in "The X-Files" (as the father of Scully), "Mac Gyver" and of course the leading roles in "Stargate SG1" (George Hammond) and "Twin Peaks" (Major Garland Briggs).

In Stargate SG1, he portrayed George Hammond from 1997 until 2004. Although he left the original series at the end of season 7, he still had guest appearances in season 8 and 9 as well as the spin off "Stargate:Atlantis".

His favorite aspect in playing in SG1 was that he could work again with Richard Dean Anderson (Mac Guyver) which was also the reason why Richard asked him for the part.

Other Sci-Fi cult series in which he appeared are: "Andromeda", "The Twilight Zone", "The Outer Limits", "The Sentinel" and "Poltergeist: The Legacy"

Interesting fact: He has appeared in four different productions with Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson in Stargate SG1) : "A Family Divided" (1995) (TV), "Stargate SG-1" (1997), "The Artist's Circle" (2000) and "Suspicious River" (2000).
